Ratnapura
Ceylon's most celebrated stone, prized for its velvety cornflower-to-royal blue. Sri Lankan sapphires have powered the world's most famous jewels, from royal halos to engagement rings.
Selecting one
Look for even saturation, no zoning under daylight, and a soft internal lustre.
Ratnapura
A modern collector's favourite. Ceylon pink sapphires range from soft rose to vivid hot-pink, and unheated examples are scarce enough to command a premium.

Sri Lanka
A regal violet, far rarer than blue sapphire. Sri Lankan purple sapphires are typically unheated and prized for their natural, undiluted colour.

Elahera
Sri Lankan rubies favour a softer, raspberry-toned red. Star rubies, with their six-rayed asterism, are a signature Ceylon material.

Ratnapura
From lemon to honey to canary, the yellow sapphire is the sun-stone of Sri Lanka, an astrological favourite and a daily-wear classic.
